Miami Southridge (FL) versatile defensive back, Coemba Jones Jr. -- is experiencing the measurement hurdle (height) regarding his recruitment. If you close your eyes and review his football resume, you would think he's rated no lower than a 3-star prospect. Coemba, is a three year letterman and has averaged, 100 - tackles, 1-sack and 1 - Interception the past three years starting on varsity. Last fall, Coemba, lined-up at cornerback vs. Miami High, and locked down University of Southern California commit Keyshawn Young. This off-season, Coemba, playing primarily the nickel cornerback position, which is the toughest position to play in 7on7 football, helped Fire South captured the the Pylon Tournament championship. Coemba, is rated a 2-star by Rivals.com. He's the state of Florida, Will Likely (Maryland) for the class of 2017, if you asked me. Monday-through-Friday, he's literally working, challenging wide receivers Rodney Scott (UM commit), Kemore Gamble (UM commit), Daquris Wiggins, Freddie Pinder (FIU commit) and future All-Americans -- Daquris Wiggins and Mark Pope. Just to give you a better understanding of his talent and production. The Spartans' defense has nine student-athletes with D1-FBS offers from the likes of Alabama, UF, UM etc and the 5-foot-8, 165-pounder, earned the Defensive MVP. Nicknamed "The Mayor" by coaches!! Coemba possesses natural leadership ability and displays maturity beyond his years. His secondary coach is former Prep All-American J.R. Bryant, who signed with FSU out of Miami Killian. He's the heart and soul of defense, according to his teammate and coaches. Who ever signs this young man is getting a natural born leader, who will perform on the biggest stage, despite his size. Coemba, can play every position in the secondary and lead the team in special teams tackles as well.

Despite his size -- he does hold an D1-FBS verbal offer from Temple. He will be a mid-major steal if you asked me -- especially after watching him perform on the same level versus Rivals Top 100 and All-American talent and out perform the notable names at times. His efforts this past season -- earned him 1st Team All-Dade County.

Junior Stats: 130 - Tackles, 3 - FF, 3 - FR and 2 - Interceptions. Hudl: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/4155438/coemba-jones-jr
