South Florida's Rising Star: Monsignor Pace 19' ATH Kamryn Giles (5-10, 180)
This upcoming fall -- South Florida safety class is remarkable with nationally recognized prospects such as: Billy Gibson Jr. (Miami Southridge), Daniel Wright (Cardinal Gibbons) and Naytron Culpepper (Miami Carol City).
How about fast forwarding into the future and getting an early glimpse of South Florida next safety star? Monsignor Pace two-sport star Kamryn Giles (5-10, 180) makes plays on defense, special teams and track and field.
What kind of athlete is this student-athlete? As a 8th grader, Giles advanced to the Jr. Olympics, and was ranked 5th in the nation -- competing in the pentathlon. This past spring -- Giles beat out many seniors, as he advanced to regionals in the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and long jump. Which is very impressive, especially considering he's a freshman.
Monsignor Pace football program isn't a stranger when it comes to producing nationally known safeties. Within the last decade -- former players have inked with in-state programs: University of Miami (Tevaris Johnson) & (Lovon Ponder) and University of Florida (Jabari Gorman).
Last fall -- Giles recorded over 50 - tackles playing both free and strong safety. He was also responsible for 2 - sacks, 1 - Interception, 3 - fumble recoveries and 1 - forced fumble and not to mention, 3 - blocked kicks on special teams.
Inside of the classroom and the community, he's standing out as well. Giles sports a 3.5 weighted GPA and recently, volunteered at the Miami Dolphins 1 million meal pack. Giles is without question, a well-rounded future star. He stands out inside of the classroom, community and he's a two-sport star.
