Future High School All-American: Miami Carol City 19' RB Nayquan Wright
Miami Carol City high school -- is the home to some of the most highly sought after recruits over the years -- with Parade & US Army All-Americans defensive stars such as: Willie Williams, Kenny Phillips, Stanford Samules and Willie Jones. The last nationally known stars on offense for the Chiefs -- dates back to the 1997-1998 state champion squad -- that featured quarterback Ethenic Sands (University of Miami) and running back Robert Samford (Western Michigan).
Miami Carol City high school -- has a special freshman on campus that has All-American written all over him. Some believe, he could be the best offensive athlete ever -- to suit up in a orange and black uniform -- all said and done. This future phenom name is Nayquan Wright who stands 5-foot-9, 185-pounds. This past fall -- Wright took South Florida by storm. The freshman was named 1st team All-Dade County. Wright carried the ball 122-times for 983-yards and 11 - rushing touchdowns. Along with 10-catches for 55-yards, which accumulated 1,038 all-purpose yards on the year.
Wright, third game of the season vs. the Lakeland Dreadnoughts -- he recorded 268-all purpose yards. Wright, rushed for an amazing 248-yards and scored 2-touchdowns, which engineered his team to a 44-34 victory. Nationally known powerhouse (3-Peat State Champs) Miami Central -- experienced just how good this freshman was last fall. Wright, rushed for a 120-yards and 1-touchdown -- which helped his team defeat the Rockets 8-7. Big-time players, make big-time plays. In Wright performances on the gridiron, didn't go unnoticed. Listen to this, Wright was a nominee for Miami-Dade County Player of the Year as just a freshman. Which is unbelievable. An accomplishment itself.
