Rising Star: Miami Norland 18' CB/DB Mervin Jean


This off-season, Miami Norland added a key addition, that's one of the best statistically unrecognized ball hawks in South Florida. Last fall, the 4A classification product from Somerset Academy Silver Palms (Homestead, FL) -- here's a note, led South Florida (Dade & Broward) in interceptions with an astounding (8). /react-text react-text: 176 Inside of the classroom. Jean sports a 3.2 weighted GPA and as far as on gridiron, he's a stand out as well. The 5-foot-10, 168-pound ball hawk, that lined up at both cornerback and defensive back, was named 1st team All-State and 2nd Team All-Dade County. /react-text react-text: 180 Jean is active within the trenches. He was responsible for 66 total tackles, 1 sack and 1 fumble recovery. According to Jean, he's receiving interest (mail) from college football programs: Yale University, Western Kentucky University and Bowling Green University. /react-text react-text: 184 This off-season, Jean recorded a hand-timed 4.5/40-Yard Dash at Georgia State University football camp. He's now on their recruiting radar according to his 247sports account. Jean also finished Top 3 at South Carolina football camp as well.
