So. Florida's Impact Freshman: Champagnat Catholic (FL) WR Johnquai Lewis

Hialeah, FLA. -- The lions' freshman wide receiver -- is a big play waiting to happen. Not only does he pass the eyeball-test, but he can separate from defenders, block extremely well and make acrobatic catches. After accumulating 189 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns, the past two football games (Spring football game & Kickoff Classic) its safe to say, the 2A product, will make a strong push to become a 2016 Maxpreps freshman All-American. /react-text react-text: 185 Head Coach Dennis Marroquin continues to roll in star-studded underclassmen with noticeable size. The 2A classification (Lowest level) product from the Lions' -- dominated 8A Classification (Highest level) football programs this spring and fall. /react-text react-text: 189 The 6-feet, 150 pound wide receiver, makes it a challenge "under the lights" for the average cornerback week in and week out, standing 6-feet with upper and lower body strength. Lewis' bench (195) and squat (315) max numbers equals an eye-popping, 510 pounds. /react-text react-text: 193 Lewis, has repeatedly been mentioned as the Lions' most dynamic and reliable offensive weapon according to fans, media and opposing coaches. As a ninth-grader, this past spring vs. Hallandale (8A Classification), he hauled in 5 receptions for 108 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. /react-text react-text: 197 On Friday vs. Piper (8A Classification), the Lions' well-rounded freshman wide receiver, would make an impressive acrobatic catch -- displaying unquestionable hand-eye coordination and most importantly, continuing to shine vs. the bigger schools in South Florida. Lewis caught 5 passes for 81 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. /react-text react-text: 201 Last fall, the lions wide receiver unit consisted of three student-athletes with D1 offers: Alex Ortiz, Damon Johnson and Breion Fuller -- hindering the opportunity to make a splash statistically. /react-text react-text: 209 Lewis, earned praise by his coaches as perhaps the team' best blocking receiver, which is high recognition for an eight-grader. He would still managed to contribute on offense and defense, despite limited touches. Lewis, was named to the Generation Nexxt's All-South Florida team. /react-text

Lewis, play-making ability earned him a starting point on the FBU National Tournament team in South Florida. /react-text react-text: 221 /react-text react-text: 224 Did you know? Lewis' first varsity game was as a seventh-grader. Lewis, recorded over 100 all-purpose yards and scored 2 receiving touchdowns. /react-text react-text: 228 Here's my bald prediction. Lewis' is going to finished Top 10 in receiving yards in 5A-Ind classification (Dade & Broward) and Top 25 overall in South Florida. /react-text react-text: 232 Jerry Williamson thoughts on Johnquai Lewis: /react-text react-text: 236 "The Lions' former 4-Star Breion Fuller transferred to Doral Academy this off-season and if you ask me, the lions' filled his role with another future 4-Star WR with Johnquai Lewis. I expect, Lewis, to become the third Lions' student-athlete (Donovan Georges, Damon Johnson) to be named a MaxPreps Freshman All-American. Furthermore, I also expect multiple division one offers down the line and someone, who should make first or second team All-Dade County and nothing less. /react-text react-text: 240 Johnquai Lewis' Hudl Link: /react-text http://www.hudl.com/athlete/6754833/johnquai-lewis react-text: 245 Twitter: @Johnquai_D1 /react-text
