Getting To Know - AYFL - Miramar Wolverines 12U QB Taron "Tyger" Dickens


Miramar, FLA. - Rising Stars has highlighted well deserving student-athletes thus far, who have captured championships at the local, regional and nationally levels and grades out as a champion inside of the classroom with gunslingers such as Nick Vattiato (Ft. Lauderdale Hurricanes) and Keywone "Lights Out" Jenkins (Miami Gardens Ravens).

Well, the talent train of notable quarterbacks across South Florida doesn't stop there. Meet Miramar Wolverines 12U Dual-threat quarterback Taron "Tyger" Dickens. He's a young man, who stands 5-foot-4, 125lbs. and is a household name in South Florida and even somewhat of a minor celebrity nationally, dating back to his earlier days playing for (Miami Pop Warner) Gwen Cherry Bulls, with a long winning-streak that later earned them the nickname the Swagg boys.

Academics

Dickens football resume speak volumes. As a seventh-grader, the Miramar Wolverines 12U football team is (6-0) on the season behind the arm and legs of Taron "Tyger" Dickens.

Academics and sports is Rising Stars mission, when promoting student-athletes, and the Miramar Wolverines star dual-threat quarterback, certainly fits the criteria.

Dickens earns A's and B's inside of the classroom, and have a long list of academic achievement certifications as you can see (Right Pictured), that ranges from mathmathics, reading, science, English, D.A.R.E program as well as athletics. Great Job!

Accolades

Dickens is without question on the right track in life. This season, Dickens, earned the Miami Dolphins' Player of the Week recognition award and speaking of the Miami Dolphins, the AYFL's dual-threat star quarterback - was last season starting signal-caller for the Miami Dolphins' Dade All-Stars team, playing in the Dade vs. Broward All-Stars Game. He later captured the Rack City 7on7 football Tournament and took home the MVP (Left Pictured) and also captured the Miami Dolphins 7on7 Youth Division Tournament championship.

Winner

Dickens is a flat-out winner, capturing multiple league championships and two national championships throughout the years. Dickens helped the FBU 6th Grade Broward All-Stars football team, captured the FBU National Championship and tossed an eye-popping five touchdowns and was named the game MVP (Pictured Above)

Season

Dickens has thrown 20 touchdowns and rushed for two through six games this season. He's also responsible for over 1,000 yards of all-purpose yards and multiple opening drive scores. The wolverines' offense is averaging roughly 24 points per game this fall and has their eyes on a league championship behind the leadership and athletic ability of this young man, left pictured. .

1. What is your favorite subject in school? And why?

A) I like math, because all I'm doing is counting numbers and learning how to count my money.

2. How do you balance school and sports? You play for the Wolverines and participate in 5-on-5 travel football?

A) I balance sports and football by going hard in both getting good grades and having a great attitude.

3. Who's your favorite quarterback? And why.

A) My favorite quarterback is teddy Bridgewater because he mentors me he stay cool in the pocket and he don't fold under pressure.

4. Who's your favorite college football team?

A) My favorite college football team is Oregon ducks.

5. Who motivates you to succeed in school and sports?

A) My mom motivates me in school and sports, Coach Dwight and Ms. Sandy motivates me in school and coach Don and Big Punch motivates me in sports.
