2nd Round Playoffs: Richmond Shuts Out Goulds, Giants Win 28-0

Richmond Heights, FLA. - The hype machine involving this contest, was at an all-time high, as the No. 4 seed Goulds Rams, traveled to Delancey Park this past weekend, to clash with the Richmond-Perrine Giants better known as the "Golden Boys". The last meeting between both teams, took place week 8, and the "Golden Boys" just edged the Rams, 10-0.

The "Golden Boys" would score touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams. In addition, their stingy defense, held the Rams smash-mouth offense under 50 total yards from scrimmage. The "Golden Boys" defensive trenches, anchored by #99 Michael Jackson, (#2) Cornelius Collier, (#7) Derrick Edwards, (#9) DeShawn Troutman and (#11) Pernell Paige II all played lights out, forcing the Rams, to change their offensive game plan, from smash-mouth to air raid.

Richmond-Perrine Giants RB Brashard Smith, rushed for two touchdowns early in the first quarter. The third score, would come from (#3) Jason Marshall as he would field a punt at the 43-yard line and cruise down the sidelines for a touchdown. Goulds Rams ATH (#1) Jai-Ayviauynn Celestine, lead his team in tackles and all-purpose yards, but the "Golden Boys" star studded roster, was too much for the Rams game-changer.

The Giants' OLB (#99) Michael Jackson, pulled in three interceptions (two official) and returned a pick six 43-yards. Moreover, Jackson would catch yet another pick six, but due to the mercy rule, he wasn't allowed to advance his interception. In a blank of an eye, the score was 28-0 before halftime. The third quarter would last exactly eight plays, before the start of the fourth quarter.

The Giants would still hammer the ball despite the mercy rule, with RBs Dwight Crews and DeShawn Troutman. The Giants' offensive line allowed QB James Johnson III, to find connect several times on dink and dunk plays. Final Score - Richmond Giants 28, Goulds Rams 0
