Getting To Know: Northwest Boys & Girls Club Falcons QB Khalil Anglin
Seventh-grade quarterback Khalil Anglin of the Northwest Boys & Girls Club Falcons (Pee Wee) football team -- who stands 5-foot-7, 120lbs and sports a 3.2 weighted grade-point-average -- is the next emerging star. Khalil is quietly putting up eye-catching statistics and victories for the 2016 season and has the Falcons in the hunt for the Pop Warner Division 2 National Championship.
The 2015-2016 Miami Dolphins 11U Dade All-Stars selection, has thrown approximately 26 passing touchdowns and accumulated over 1,500 all-purpose yards from scrimmage -- including several comeback victories over the years. Quarterbacks are value on leadership and clutch performances, and Khalil performance this season vs. the No. 1 ranked Goulds Rams -- caught my eye.
Khalil entering halftime brought his team back from a 14-point deficit, tossing three touchdowns and ending the game in a tie. This season, Khalil has helped the Falcons captured the Sean Taylor Classic, throwing three touchdowns and defeating the highly factored Little River Saints 28-6.
Khalil made the town of Port. St. Lucie (FL) all believers this past weekend -- as he spreaded the wealth -- tossing five touchdowns to three different wide receivers (Mark Evans, Corey Washington, Javonte Adderly) and defeated a well-respected program, Port. St. Lucie Pirates (34-26).
Khalil has now penciled his name in the same conversation as the premier gunslinger in South Florida for the class of 2022. This upcoming week, the Falcons will compete for the Southeastern Regional Championship, and a victory will advanced the Falcons to the Pop Warner Division 2 National Championship located in the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex.
