Intriguing Talent: Miami Southridge 17' ATH Dimitry Prophete (6-0, 200)

The Miami Southridge Spartans football program or should I say, division one factory, is loaded with talented prospects across the board from upper to underclassmen with approximately 20 student-athletes with D1 offers.

The Spartans' defense features ten starters with division one offers, but there's one intriguing prospect on their defense named Dimitry Prophete, No. 2 in sacks in South Florida, who starts at defensive tackle standing 6-feet, 200-pounds who has the speed of a skilled athlete and the strength of a road grader.

Dimitry, is an intriguing prospect for the Spartans, standing 6-feet and weighing 200-pounds next to fellow defensive line starters: Senior DeAndre Johnson 6-4, 230 (Mississippi State commit) and 3-Stars, James Head Jr. 6-5, 210 and Randy Charlton 6-4, 220.

The Spartans are responsible for nine shutouts this season (school record) and didn't allow a single point during district play (history), a large part due to Dimitry Prophete playing primarily nose guard and defensive tackle.

Dimitry possesses skill-like speed clocking an electronically timed 4.6/40 at the Nike Combine and he's the strongest football player on the Spartans varsity roster. He's strong as an ox. He bench press 325lbs, Squat 500lbs, Dead Lift 585lbs.

While most guys are just weight room monsters, his strength translates on to the gridiron. He ranks No. 2 in South Florida in sacks with a jaw-dropping 18 (with footage) at defensive tackle, which is a lot more impressive than an edge-rush specialist or linebacker.

In addition, he ranks Top 10 in South Florida in tackles at yes, defensive tackle. He has a motor. In three games this season he recorded 10 tackles which came against Miami Carol City (8 solo & 2 assist), Miami Killian (10 solo, 2 assist, 3 sacks) and Booker T. Washington (11 solo, 2 assist, 1 sack).

Here's a note, Dimitry was responsible for seven games (Krop, Columbus, South Dade, Killian, Homestead, Miami High) with two sacks and three games of three sacks (South Dade, Killian, Miami Palmetto) this season.

Against perhaps state bound Miami Booker T. Washington and Miami Carol City he combined for 23-tackles and a sack per Miami Herald Sportstrac.

Dimitry projects as a rush outside linebacker at the next level. He's strong enough to play within the trenches and has great speed to chase plays down. He's certainly an intriguing prospect for the Spartans. He's patiently waiting on his first offer.
