Recruiting Steal: Miami Central (Fla.) 17' DB Sammy Laster (5-11, 190)

Miami Central has a hidden gem in senior strong safety/linebacker Sammy Laster who stands 5-foot-11, 190-pounds with sub 4.5 speed as well as sporting a 3.4 GPA with a 22 ACT and 1180 SAT. In addition, he's also an early enrollee that can take part in spring football immediately.

Before, post-season action, Sammy ranked Top 10 statistically in two activities which consisted in tackles and sacks in the county -- including one interception.

The once, Top 5 underclassmen linebacker in South Florida in Top 25 prospect in Miami-Dade County for the class of 2017, is now experiencing the catch-up game when it comes to recruiting, since he was unable to participate the past spring due to rehabbing which didn't help to make recruiting boards after missing his entire junior season.
