Former University of Miami head coach Howard Schnellenberger (1979-1983) made it known approximately 38-years ago, you can build a national championship team locally, based on the rich-talent in South Florida known as the "State of Miami" and cherry-pick the rest of the nation for a few choice recruits.
Goulds Rams head coach/offensive coordinator, Andre Daniels of the Greater Miami Pop Warner Conference, used the Howard Schnellenberger method, of recognizing unheralded talent and has arguably the Top 10 overall prospect for the Class of 2022 in South Florida with Ironman athlete, Jai-Ayviauynn Celestin who stands 5-foot-8, 140-pounds.
Being athletically gifted is one thing, but putting your team on the shoulders and taking the leadership role is another. Coach Daniels inherited a slim roster, that didn't appear playoff bound at first glance, but surprisingly advanced to the second-round playoffs lead by the versatility of seventh-grader, Jai-Ayviauynn Celestine.
The product from the Greater Miami Pop Warner Conference, found the end zone multiple times this fall, as he scored touchdowns in all three phases of the game against superior division one competition. Defensively, playing mainly middle linebacker, Jai-Ayviauynn averaged (8) tackles per game and finished the season with (2) fumble recoveries and (5) force fumbles.
Jai-Ayviauynn would display his versatility against the best-of-the-best, earned the starting role for FBU Dade All-Stars 7th Grade football team. His coaching staff: head coach Jovan Ferguson, offensive coordinator Harold Jacobs and defensive coordinator Torrie Cox, who knows a thing or two about talent & winning, observed perhaps the most unrecognized name on the roster, take FBU by storm, scoring nine touchdowns (1-punt return, 3-receiving and 5-rushing) within five games for the Dade All-Stars as well as (3) force fumbles and one interception.
After speaking with his father, Antonio Blunt, he has informed me his son (Jai-Ayviauynn) next season, will play varsity high school football as an eighth-grader. Here's a note, Dade All-Stars 8th grade football team will have three eighth-graders that started varsity this fall: Keys Gate Charter QB Torey "Scooter" Morrison, Doral Academy WR Khalil Brantley and Palm Glades ATH Cedarius Watts.
