Rising Star: Saint John Paul II Academy (FL) 20' QB Zachary Bohannon (6-0, 170)


South Florida's class of 2020 talent pool continues to sequentially check-in, as soon-to-be sophomore quarterback Zachary Bohannon is next in-line as the next superstar from the tri-county. The Palm Beach Fire 7v7 All-Star football team is expressing why the rising star appeared in five games on varsity. Zachary, is without a doubt, on fire this off-season, as the hottest freshman gunslinger in South Florida, competing in stiff competition on the varsity 7v7 all-star division.

He's consistently moving the ball upfield and tossing touchdowns left-and-right competing in stiff competition, challenging well-recognized high school prospects with multiple college football subdivision (D1-FBS) verbal offers. Zachary is on the pathway to success. While most ninth-graders are playing 15 and under 7v7 all-star football, he's splitting reps on varsity and making split-second reads and throws as well as tossing 26 touchdowns as spring football approaches.

In addition, the promising gunslinger sports a 4.0 weighted GPA and could very well be the top pro style passer in South Florida and Top 25 nationally ranked, when all is said-and-done come National Signing Day. Zachary, a little-known prospect, who's stationed east of Boca Raton, Florida for 3A classification Saint John Paul II Academy, was meant to become a student-athlete. It’s in his bloodlines: Zachary comes from long line of sport stars such as Dean Barry Hill (OSU), Michael Bohannon (Syracuse), Michael Bohannon (Michigan), Gary Bohannon (Pitt), Addison Bohannon and David Bohannon (Norte Dame).

His father and grandfather were both defensive standouts at Syracuse and Michigan listed above. The gunslinger is quietly, making nationally headlines winning the War Zone 7v7 Tournament, which resulted in becoming a Pylon National Championship Qualifier. Zachary, was selected to participate in Complete Athletes' USA All-Stars vs. Canada All-Stars and turned heads, throwing for 295 yards (13 completions) and found the end zone twice. Zachary, tossed a 2-touchdowns and ran for an additional score at Florida Athletic University's Padded Camp.

Zachary also competes in basketball and 8v8 football. As a starter for both sports, he delivered a game high (22 points) as the team shooting guard and threw 10 touchdowns in three games.

He's currently being taught by a quarterback coach who hails from the Palm Beach area, named Jarrett Brown (12th-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the 2005 recruiting class by Rivals from Palm Beach Lakes High School. Jarrett started for West Virginia and played for both the National Football League and Canadian Football League. He's going to become the next signal caller to become a household name in the sunshine state.
