Rising Stars All-South Florida Freshman Selection: Belen Jesuit Preparatory (FL) ATH Don Chaney Jr.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, which is located roughly 5-miles west of Florida International University (Modesto A. Maidique Campus), has a sensational freshman named Don Chaney Jr, who many are saying could be the next freakish athlete, similar to Gulliver Prep's great Sean Taylor out of high school.

The 15-year-old, standing 5-foot-11, 175lbs with 4.49 speed per Under Armour All-American Camp (Miami, FL) and finished Top 8 in the Illspeed challenge.

He'swithout question beyond his time, when you factor in his accomplishments, testing and level of competition. In addition, rising sophomore sports early verbal offers from Uni. of Miami (FL), Syracuse, Boston College and FAU. As spring football approaches, chances are, Don verbal offer list will expand, as college football programs FSU, Ohio St and Louisville have all told him they'll visit.

The 9th grader, who attends a prestigious private, where the average student accepts an ivy league scholarship, sports a 2.85 weighted GPA. Don earned freshman All-American for both Maxpreps and Tom Lemming as well as earning first-team all-county, at the highest classification. The 15-year-old maxing out at 275lbs (bench), 420lbs (squat) and 240lbs (power clean).

Why are people saying he (Don Chaney) could be the next Sean Taylor? If you didn't know, his father, Don Chaney Sr. graduated (Homestead Senior) at 6-foot-6, 200lbs clocking a 4.5/40-yard dash and signed his letter of intent to play in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) for South Carolina Gamecocks. This week, the South Carolina Gamecocks extended a verbal offer to the rising star. You can definitely mark his name next to high school all-american, representing the state of Florida and Miami-Dade county for the Class of 2020.

Don is expected to reach at least 6-foot-3, said Chaney Sr. His stardom at running back might be short lived, considering he's top-notch at wide receiver, cornerback and defensive back. In result, college football coordinators may up end playing tuggle-war, which side of the ball he'll play come his freshman season. Don is a dynamic return specialist, reaching the end zone three times and returned two kick returns in a single game vs. Southwest High School.

As an 8th grader, Don proved to fans and college coaches, his burst and speed is everything as advertised, earning the district title in the high jump. This off-season, Don has finished first-place in every track meet competing in the high jump expect for the Florida Relay, finishing No.3 overall which isn't a disappointment considering he's only a freshman.

There's yet another talented freshman on the wolverines varsity roster named Nathaniel Payne (Left Pictured), who stands 6'2, 160-pounds that plays wide receiver and cornerback, that scored multiple touchdowns and shined in the secondary. He's a major sleeper for the class of 2020 in South Florida.

Congratulations, Don Chaney Jr on making Rising Stars All-South Florida Freshman Team!
