On The Rise: American Heritage Plantation (FL) 20' QB Edwin Rhodes (6-1, 178)

After a stellar eighth-grade season, as the starting quarterback for the Miami Gardens Chiefs 14U (Florida Youth Football League) football team, Edwin Rhodes earned first-team All-South Florida by Generation Nexxt (The ESPN for youth sports) and this past fall, started for the Patriots' junior varsity football program -- where he threw multiple touchdowns and displayed an impressive arm with both arm strength and touch.

Rhodes would later move up to varsity, and earn limited playing-time behind dual-threat quarterback Jason Brown, a two-time state champion and Harvard University signee. The now emerging star on the high school ranks, is certainly making a strong push for the starting job this spring after taking South Florida High School 7v7 All-Star football tournaments by storm, as the leader for nationally recognized South Florida Express 7v7 15-and-under football team starting quarterback. Rhodes is the gunslinger, who's the unsung individual, that has played a role aiding to nationally-praised eighth-grade (Class of 2021) wide receiver, Jacorey Brooks Jr. (6-2, 170) success, by picking-up football subdivision verbal offers from the likes of Tennessee and the Uni. of Miami (FL). Brooks Jr., will play for Miami Booker T. Washington this upcoming fall. Rhodes, also won the MVP at the Sam Madison 7-on-7 Tournament.

Rhodes is currently, splitting reps during spring football with isoon-to-be senior quarterback Cameron Smith (American Heritage Delray transfer) and has a bright future with three years of eligibility remaining to showcase his talent and leadership. College football coaches keep an eye on this young man.
