Tour of Talent: South Florida's Top 10 Wide Receivers (Class of 2020)

By Jerry Williamson

The luxury of following the ground work of Rising Stars founder and chief executive, Jerry Williamson, is immediately knowing the stars of tomorrow.

The Miami Metropolitan area, is described a one-stop-shop, when it comes to high school recruiting at the wide receiver position. A position that has fueled the National Football League (NFL) DRAFT for nearly four-decades.

South Florida continues to produce the greatest NFL talent in the country, especially at the wide receiver position. You ever heard of the names Antonio Brown, T.Y. Hilton, and Amari Cooper

They're all top 100 overall talent of the NFL according to NFL Network voted by the players. So you ever wonder, who are the next premium fuel in South Florida at the wide receiver position for the class of 2020? I'll give you those answers, without having to pay $2.35 per gallon.

The saying goes, it's all about playing on the big stage, come high school. Well, tell that to the 2A state runner-up dynamic duo wide receivers from Champagnat Catholic (Hialeah, FL) Johnquai Lewis (6-0, 165) and Mark Britt (6-1, 185).

The small-school products that are stationed in Hialeah, FL, is without question, the top class of 2020 duo wide receivers in South Florida. Lewis, a second year varsity starter, led all freshmen in receiving yards and touchdowns this past season in South Florida. Lewis (left pictured) also scored on the big stage, meaning the Class 2A state championship game vs. University Christian.

Britt (right pictured) has earned seven football subdivision verbal offers this off-season. His most notable offer is from the hometown canes. While his teammate, Lewis holds five Div. 1 verbal offers to his name.

Wide receiver Deajaun McDougle (5-10, 175) of Deerfield Beach high school -- will continue the rich-history at wide receiver for the Bucks. The sophomore, who has pulled in nearly a dozen Div. 1 verbal offers, is the next star in-line as he ablaze defenses the past season. Six of his seventeen catches, resulted in touchdowns

The eye-catchers of the class are Aydin Henningham (6-1, 200), The'andris Freeman (6-1, 175), Marcus Rosemy (6-1, 175), and Thaui Jones-Bell (6-1, 180). The trio stand 6-feet-1 with a muscular frame and strong hands. Henningham has earned the most verbal offers of the group thus far, with seven Div. 1 offers.

The next pair are playmakers possesses size and speed, as Gerand Turner and Baron Grant both stand nearly, a legit 6-foot-2, that can separate. I feel, Turner should have multiple in-state offers by season end. Just based off film and the magical word in recruiting, known as upside.

Many feel, all said and done -- Baron Grant (6-2, 180), Miami Central transfer, who's now at Braddock High School. Has the potential to be the top wide receiver of his class once he's polish. Grant dominated the local all-star games as an eighth-grader.

Miami Booker T. Washington, has another Brandon Harris-like talent, who if given the opportunity, can play on both sides of the ball with speedy and versatile athlete Jovan Ferguson. The converted quarterback, scored two receiving touchdowns against, American Heritage Plantation the past week. He's another Div. 1 talent in waiting.

Oxbridge Academy slot receiver Jordan Cash is the smallest among the group. But, his route-running ability, top-end speed and change of direction is impressive. Cash scored three touchdowns and accumulated well-over 300-all purpose yards last season.
