2017 ALL-SOUTH FLORIDA FRESHMAN TEAM

Rising Stars is proud to announce the 2017 ALL-South Florida Freshman Team. Players were chosen solely on their varsity production and academic accomplishments. The teams were compiled via nominations from Rising Stars staff and creditable high school coaches, media, and past season selections input. In all, a total of 30 playmakers were selected minus placekickers from 17 different schools and eight classifications (including independent) for the 3rd Annual All-South Florida Freshman First Team. OFFENSE (8A-6A) OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: QB, Torey "Scooter" Morrison, South Dade (8A)
Note: Morrison, a two-year varsity starter, who currently attends Miami Booker T. Washington -- has approximately 31 career touchdowns and over 3,000 all-purpose yards from scrimmage. Led the Bucs' into the second round regional playoffs (9-2, 4-1). Morrison ended his freshman campaign ranked Top 10 in South Florida in three different passing categories. The promising signal-caller who holds an early verbal scholarship from in-state Florida Atlantic University, was responsible for 21 all-purpose touchdowns at the highest level of competition.

Note: Everglades Prep two-year varsity starter, Daye ended his freshman campaign with high praise, as the No. 10 overall rusher in South Florida. Daye's eye-opener statistics consisted of stiff competition such as Champagnat Catholic (2A Champion), Chaminda-Mondonna (3A Champion, Cocoa (4A runner-up), and University School. First Team Offense

Note: As a high school varsity starter, Burns, Jr., recorded 5 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery, and allowed one reception this season for approximately eleven yards. Here's a note, Burns, Jr. didn't allow a single touchdown in man-to-man coverage this fall. This production was against notable opponents such as Champagnat Catholic (2A Champion), Chaminade-Madonna (3A Champion, Dwyer, and St. Thomas Aquinas.

Note: The Sharks' young defensive leader, was arguably the most dominant overall freshman in the nation. Aime, was responsible for 7 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions, 1 defensive touchdown, and ranked #6 overall in South Florida in tackles. Defense
