The class-of-2021 secondary class has the potential to go down as one of the best of all-time. Rising Stars will take a deeper look into the recruiting class and spotlight both the notable and rising talent. As someone who specializes in high school underclassman and youth football, my work speaks for itself folks over the years. This particular group has a lot of variety as far as what type of cornerback you're looking for. A large number are hybrid (can play corner or safety) athletes as well as nickel backs. Some can play all three positions and could be use as an extra linebacker base on packages and schemes. High school coaches input were factor into assembling the pre-spring top 10 list.
RISING STARS TOP 10 CORNERBACKS (In no particular order)
Miami Palmetto - Jason Marshall

The recruiting world is all about size and athleticism. Marshall stands 6-foot-2, 176 pounds that can be easily confirmed by his number of verbal offers from University of Miami (FL) and UGA just to name a few. Marshall was responsible for five interceptions last fall as a varsity starter and also starts on Florida Fire (South) varsity 7v7 football team. Expect to see him on Florida Fire 8 Elite team next year. Note: Rising Stars All-South Florida Freshman Team selection Doral Academy - Timothy Burns, Jr.

The younger cousin of former University of Miami superstar cornerback Artie Burns, is his class Trajan Bandy. Just like Bandy, schools are overlooking Burns, Jr. due to his size standing at 5-foot-9 at the moment. But, all the undersized superstar has done this past season was earned 3rd Team All-County, record (3) interceptions in a single game, and didn't allow a single touchdown the entire season starting on varsity. He's a varsity starter on nightmare 7v7 football team and ended the season with six interceptions. Note: Rising Stars All-South Florida Freshman Team selection Miami Palmetto - Corey Collier, Jr.

The son of former Parade High School All-American Corey Collier, Sr. (FSU graduate at linebacker) is carving his own niche. Collier, Jr. who stands 6-foot-1 who holds notable offers from UGA, UM, and USF. Collier, Jr. is a day one varsity starter who recorded (5) interceptions and earned 3rd Team All-County this past fall. Collier, Jr. has the versatility to become a premier safety as well. He also, along with teammate Jason Marshall starts for Florida Fire (South) varsity football team. This duo could be the next All-American tandem just like C/O 2018 Patrick Surtain, Jr. and Tyson Campbell of American Heritage Plantation. Note: Rising Stars All-South Florida Freshman Team selection Somerset Silver Palms - Jamal Browder

Here's a young man I named my next Rising Star immediately. Unlike the others, Browder played Junior Varsity the past season. However, this young man has the potential, size standing at 5-foot-10 to be a four star recruit as an athlete. And not just at cornerback. His mindset of being fearless of competition is what makes him stand out. Against the cream of the crop talent this off-season, Browder has earned Florida Fire Open Run MVP, Florida Fire Official 15-and-under Tryouts Top Cornerback, and earned Pylon 15U two-way athlete MVP. Miami Northwestern - Twain Massie

Massie appeared in every varsity football game this past season for Miami Booker T. Washington. His game allowed Florida Fire (Broward) 15U football team this past weekend to advance to the Pylon finals. Massie earned the starting role for Florida Fire (Broward) which says a mouth full. That's a FBS roster in waiting that will defeat varsity teams right now. The Bulls have a youngster who can make a varsity impact immediately. He's a confident kid at 5-foot-9. American Heritage Plantation - Jaden Mcburrows

Here's your jack-of-all-trades type of athlete, that just happens to play cornerback. Mcburrows standing at 5-foot-10 recently picked up an offer from Northern Illinois University. After playing limited varsity behind High School All-Americans Tyson Campbell and Patrick Surtain, Jr. He's the next premier athlete in the country. Western HS - Omar Simpson, Jr.

Here's another great athlete with size (6-foot), varsity film and division one verbal scholarships by the likes of Pittsburgh and NC State. His film playing man and zone coverage appeared as the best cornerback in Broward County and perhaps the country. Simpson, Jr. earned a starting job on highly heralded South Florida Express 7v7 football team. His upside is through the roof. Note: Rising Stars All-South Florida Freshman Team selection
Gulliver Prep - Marc Charlemagne

Charlemagne has that glue factor that college football coaches love, meaning tight coverage skills. He has the versatility to become his school next highly sought after cornerback/athlete since Cornelius Floyd who signed to Arkansas. He's a kid I named a Rising Star during youth football. Pahokee HS - Markevious Brown

The next Akeem Dent clown of the Palm Beach area in my opinion. Brown stands 6-feet tall that appeared in every varsity game as a freshman. I named him my next Rising Star after one tryout. He'll be a four star mark my word. He just reminds me of Trayvon Mullen (Clemson) and Akeem Dent (FSU commit) at an early age. Two young man I named Rising Stars as well before the offers and stars. My eye is proven college football coaches trust me. Miramar HS - Torrie Cox

Having the opportunity to learn from a father who played the same position at both the collegiate and professional ranks explains why he's so advance. He's the honey badger of his class. Opposing teams tend to forget about his short stature, standing at 5-foot-8.
