Tour of Talent: South Florida Top 10 Wide Receivers (Class of 2020)

By Jerry Williamson

Rising Stars spent the past season scouting these dynamic young talents ranging from in-person assessments (camps, showcases and live game action) along with film study. The names below was established primarily from varsity film and off-season performances. You're only as good as your film.

There's a tuggle-war between

Marcus Fleming and Marc Britt, as the premier wide receivers of their class  in South Florida and perhaps the country. I personally would love to have both of them and including the additional wide receivers on this amazing list.

The little-known prospect of the group is

Joshua Ultima of Miami Central. He  stands 6-foot-3, 180 pounds with a long stride and does an excellent job high-pointing balls against smaller defenders.

Here's a closer look at wide receivers who've emerged as premier members of a star-studded class, grading each recruit based on varsity film, speed, agility, release, route running, blocking and—of course—hands. South Florida's Top 10 Wide Receivers in no particular order

Marcus Fleming | Miami Southridge

Fleming (5'11", 160) the returning leader in receiving yards and touchdowns in Miami-Dade County has the moves and the athleticism to make defenders miss. But, the most special quality about his game is his burst and top-end speed. In the pads he is one of the fastest guys in the country.

Marc Britt | Champagnat Catholic

Britt (6'1", 175) brings a dynamic blend of speed, strength, and agility that makes him extremely dangerous regardless of where he ends up with the ball. The University of Miami (FL) verbal commit has the ability to make acrobatic midair adjustments. Britt caught over 15 touchdowns during the past two seasons.

Johnquai Lews | Champagnat Catholic

Lewis (6'0", 165) lines up alongside Marc Britt at Champagnat Catholic, forming one of the county's most dangerous receiving duos. He exhibits elite hands on both sides of the ball, plucking passes from all angles. Gerand Turner | South Miami

Turner (6'1", 180) is a man-child when it comes to physical stature and looks extremely solid with a strong upper body. He manhandles high school opponents with polished route running and an impressive release, using physicality to gain separation off the snap. Bryan Robinson | Palm Beach Central

Robinson (6'0", 175) is startlingly shifty for his size, making defenders come up empty on a regular basis in the open field. Robinson is a well-rounded receiver who can attack the secondary with precise routes or turn a short strike into a big play by turning on the jets. Dejuan McDougale | Deerfield Beach HS

When McDougale (5'10", 170) gains a step on the outside edge. forget about it. He's an electric runner who makes up for a lack of ideal size with game-altering speed. I observed him this off-season with Florida Fire. When he's hot, it's a challenge to stop him.

Jordan Cash | Oxbridge Academy

His small stature (5'9", 150) may scare off college football coaches who put major stock in measurables, but we challenge the doubters to watch this beast go to work. He is a relentless competitor who plucks passes in traffic and manages to gain separation from defenders who typically hold a height advantage over him. Cash is your ideal slot receiver that excels on special teams returning kicks and punts. Baron Grant | Doral Academy

Grant is a big, physical wideout (6'1", 180) with the ability to make plays all over the field. He can be a yards after the catch wide receiver or one who streaks down the sideline to make a play on the deep ball. He really knows how to adjust to the ball. His size and strength allow him to be successful in traffic or making the nerve recking catch across the middle. His best game still a head of him. James Davis | Belle Glades Central

Davis (5'11", 160) is extremely natural at high-pointing the football, displaying strong instincts and elite hands. His expansive catch radius allows quarterbacks to simply place the ball near his body, allowing him to adjust as needed. Davis will be Raiders next superstar wide receiver. Josue Ultima | Miami Central

He possesses outstanding length and looks like a track sprinter as he strides down the sideline past opponents. His stature (6'3", 180) is already suitable for the college game. Ultima, ranked Top 15 in several receiving categories in 2017-2018 season, he consistently fights for a clean release and is sharp enough in his routes to leave undisciplined defenders grasping dust.

Best of the Rest: Javone Jackson, Atlantic High School
