Tour of Talent: Top 10 two-way playmakers in So. Florida (Class of 2020)

By Jerry Williamson More and more schools are maximizing the athleticism of their stars by having them contribute in as many ways possible, often doing so on both offense and defense as well as special teams. College football programs are making sure they benefit overall with their high profile recruits. Names such as  Washington's Shaq Thompson, USC's Adoree' Jackson, and UCLA's Myles Jack have all brought back the trend since the days of Charles Woodson at Michigan.  

Based on film study, Xaiver Restrepo and Anton Hall, Jr. both cornerstone their prospective county at their position when you factor big plays and versatility. Willie Floyd is your Myles Jack of the group. He's physical, athletic, and can run and deliver bone crushing hits along with interceptions.  Top 10 Utility Playmakers in No Particular Order Anton Hall, Gulliver Prep 

Positions played: Cornerback, wide receiver, running back, kick/punt returner The most versatile player in the small school classification in perhaps the country. He can catch it, run it, and return it. Hall rushed for 404 rushing yards and 6 rush TD's on just 36 carries. Hall recorded 52 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 1 returned for a touchdown. Hall was selected 1st Team All-Dade Athlete and 2nd Team All-State. He currently holds (9) division one scholarships. 

Xaiver Restrepo, St. Thomas Aquinas

Positions played: Cornerback, safety, wide receiver, running back, kick/punt returner Along with being one of the most well-respected wide receivers in the country, Restrepo led his team in all-purpose yards, touchdowns, interceptions, tackles, force fumbles, and earned first team all-county. As a DB: 51 tackles, four interceptions (one TD), four forced fumbles, two recoveries and five blocked kicks; on offense: 851 total yards and 11 touchdowns.  Willie Floyd, Carol City 

Positions played: Running back & linebacker The first-team all-county selection thrived on both sides of the ball for Spartans at running back and linebacker. Floyd, delivered four one-hundred rushing yards games and five individual games of double digits tackles. Floyd rushed for 784 yards and 9 rushing touchdowns.  Morris Hall, Everglades Prep  

Positions played: Cornerback, wide receiver, quarterback, kick/punt returner Hall has accumulated over 500 all-purpose yards and multiple touchdowns. He caused fumbles, interceptions, and earned the all-county team. He caught at least one pass in every game. The small school product holds several division one scholarships. Council Allen, American 

Positions played: Cornerback, wide receiver, kick/punt returner He's one of the most dynamic sophomores. The three-way player is primarily a cornerback, and a very good one, but also caught several touchdown passes on offense and led the secondary in interceptions. Nate Payne, Belen Jesuit 

Positions played: Cornerback, wide receiver, kick/punt returner The 6-foot-2, 160 pound all-around athlete has been taking varsity snaps since the 8th grade. At wide receiver he pulled in 5 touchdowns with over 300 receiving yards and recorded 3 interceptions on defense. Payne sports above a 3.7 GPA and still awaiting his first verbal scholarship. He's certainly offer material.  Johnquai Lewis, Champagnat Catholic 

Positions played: wide receiver & cornerback The Lions' star was all over the field defensively last year with 25 plus tackles and several interceptions. On offense, playing wide receiver he pulled in roughly ten touchdowns. Lewis has scored touchdowns in both state championship appearances and locked down opposing wide receivers.

Edwin Lebron, Monarch 

Positions played: Cornerback, wide receiver, kick/punt returner If you're for someone that's not on anyone radar at the moment, but is deserving of recruiting attention it's certainly LeBron from Broward County. He has an excellent hand-eye coordination as he makes multiple catches in traffic. On defense, he was responsible for 29 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and 3 ints 1TD. Anthony Johnson, Miami Norland 

Positions played: Cornerback & wide receiver

The two-way playmaker recently captured the 7v7 National Championship for South Florida Express. As the starting wide receiver and corneback for the Vikings delivered countless crutch time performances in big games. Jaylin Wilson, Keys Gate 

Positions played: Quarterback, wide receiver, linebacker, safety, corner 

Perhaps the most little-known prospect of the group. He made plays all over the field for the Knights. Wilson dual threat ability led his team in rushing yards and touchdowns. On defense, playing several positions, he finished top 3 in every defensive category.
