Ducks upsets Razorbacks at home 6-0, fueled by RB Jadarius Gaines
Northwest Ducks' (130lbs.) dynamic and versatile running back Jadarius Gaines made a statement with a strong performance against the Pop Warner Div. 1 National Runner-ups Florida City Razorbacks, as he totalled over 150 all-purpose yards and one touchdown in a 6-0 stunning victory at home. The opening kick off Jadarius Gaines of the Ducks nearly takes it the distance, returning the ball 47-yards. On the Razorbacks first possession on offense the Ducks interior lineman Leroy Lee Jr. would set the tone delivering a bone-crushing hit, which would result in a fumble following a three-and-out. The first big play offensively, during the first half would be ushered in by the Florida City Razorbacks 34-yard scamper from running back Jaden Miller, who later broke another long run of 46-yards in the second half.
Midway through the first quarter Razorbacks begin to march upfield as QB Fraquan Warren teamed up with fullback Jacory Barney for a 17-yard gain that placed the ball at the Ducks one yard line. On the ensuing play QB Fraquan Warren would fumble the snap and Ducks LB Mehki Horne would instantly secured the fumble recovery. During the second quarter Ducks running back Tony Morgan would find daylight sprinting 32-yards upfield, which seemed to have six points written all over it. But, the Razorbacks speedy defensive back John Hayes would close the gap with a touchdown saving tackle. Midway through the third quarter Ducks running back Jadarius Gaines would sneak out the backfield into the flats as the Ducks quarterback Ryan Spallina would hit him in stride for a 38-yard gain. The start of the forth quarter was costly for the Razorbacks, as the Ducks took full advantage of the MPR (Mandatory Play Rule) players on the field. Running back Jadarius Gaines operating out of the single wing would burst up the middle for the game's first touchdown with a 72-yard score. DEFENSIVE STAND OUTS Ducks cornerback Larry Tarver and Ortarvis Stewart Jr. of the Razorbacks was glued to opposing wide receivers. Defensive tackle Eduardo Nunez Jr. of the Razorbacks recorded 2 sacks and several tackles for loss. Ducks linebacker Mehki Horne and Arelious Slaughter appeared to be around the ball on every play. Razorbacks linebacker Jacorey Barney was responsible for roughly ten tackles. The Ducks defense caused four tournovers and made it extremely difficult to establish a passing game.
