South Florida's Future Stars: Smith, Lymon, Inniss, Prichard turned in Alpha Dog Performances
When it comes to never-ending talent, look no further than South Florida. The beauty about recruiting the Miami Metropolitan area is that, the same kids I featured the past season first-team, aren't guaranteed to make the list the next season.
Kevin Smith and Pete Zamora are quarterbacks that can surface quickly this upcoming season. Brandon Inniss and Antonio Robinson are class of 2023 talent, that turned in monsters stats just to be eighth-graders on varsity this spring. Enjoy reading the next wave of talent in South Florida for the class of 2022 and 2023.
Starting the list is freshman quarterback from Miami Palmetto Kevin Smith. The once, no.1 ranked overall 7th-grader located within the Southwest Miami-Dade County region per Rising Stars has major upside. Smith stands 6-foot-2, 195-pounds with an early offer from Southern Miss.
The Panthers' signal caller was responsible for four touchdowns and threw for over 250 yards against Rockledge and Palm Beach Lakes on the road headlining the class of 2022 on offense.
The Alpha Dog on defense hails from Palm Beach County (Atlantic HS), that goes by the name of Marquis Lymon. He's a heat-seeking missile that's blessed with cornerback skills at safety. His football resume is gradually filling out. Lymon earned Rising Stars All-South Florida Freshman Team.
Lymon later was named Florida Fire 7-on-7 All-Star Showcase and Tryouts overall MVP, and made his mark this spring versus the defending state champions, Miami Northwestern by endering close to ten solo tackles and one interception. College football coaches are well aware of the rising freshman with Div. 1 offers from Liberty, Bethune-Cookman, Louisville, Southern Miss, and Penn State.
Monarch quarterback Pete Zamora, a Cardinal Gibbons transfer, is going to make a splash this upcoming fall. In his first start, he completed 22-for-35 passes for 315 yards and 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He's only going to get better overtime and those stats indicated, the sky is the limit.
Carson Haggard from Gulliver Prep threw for roughly 150-yards and connected to multiple wide receivers within the intermediate range. Haggard was named first-team this past season and will have full control as the starter this upcoming season. He's very smart and having both Yulkeith Brown and Anton Hall Jr. as the offense Percy Harvin should help with his new role. Somerset Silver Palms running back Jayke Cooper rushed for nearly 100 yards and 1 rushing touchdown. It's not the tallest, but I felt he was the top running back coming out of the Miami Xtreme Youth Football League as an eighth-grader.
The next running back in-line is Jamari Ford an eighth-grade explosive ball carrier from Miami Christian. The younger brother of Johnny Ford (University of South Florida, running back) is fun to watch in open space. Hr found the end zone twice, and left a great mark in all-purpose yards.
Wide receiver Bobby Bussey-Golden from Miami Palmetto is bound for a breakout season. The Panthers' first score of the game came from the hand-eye coordination of a rising star, who snagged five passes for roughly 50 yards.
Thanks to 7-on-7 high school All-Star football. It allows myself and other writers to discover overlooked playmakers and others that are ready to surface. American Hertiage Delray freshman ATH Blake Volcy, has highly benefited from the scenario. He was without question one of the top class of 2022 cornerbacks in South Florida. This spring he found the end zone on offense (rush) and defense (pick six) along with five solo tackles and three pass break-ups. At the 3A classification remember the named Denim Edwards, a combat and fast running back from Westminster Christian. The transfer from Gulliver Prep shined immediately, rushing for 233 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 rushes as well as 6 solo tackles on defense. He and Sedrick Irvin will provide the speed and game-changing ability. Miami Southridge defensive end Dante Anderson and Daniel Lyons are the future at defensive line in the south. They both have the potential to reach the double digit sacks especially with the Spartans long and successful list dating back to DeAndre Johnson, who starts in the Southeastern Conference for the Tennessee Volunteers. Anderson recorded 2 sacks and was described as the next Brian Burns all said-and-done by a former college football coach. Christopher Columbus freshman cornerback Cornelius Wright contributed this past week for the depending class 8A state runner-ups, picking off one pass and recoding several tackles. FUTURE PHENOMEN OF SOUTH FLORIDA
University School (Ft Lauderdale, FLA.) has possibly, had more college football visitors for the eighth-grade future Phenomen Brandon Inniss -- than most high school seniors. The future high school All-American put up video game like numbers, consisting of 4 touchdowns, 7 catches for 209 receiving yards, 3 tackles and 2 pass deflections. Inniss currently holds 15 D1-FBS offers in counting, Florida, Florida State, and the University of (Miami FL).
Miami Christian could very well have the top slot receiver or playmaker in South Florida for the class of 2023. Meet Nathaniel "Ray Ray" Joseph. He score seven touchdowns last season starting on varsity as an eighth-grader and earned Florida Fire 7-v-7 All-Stars showcase and tryouts offensive MVP this spring. His first touch against Mater Academy in the spring game, he raced over 50 yards for a touchdown.
This spring, Florida Christian eighth-grade varsity starter ATH Antonio Robinson (5-9, 150) displayed his blazing speed for his age running an electronically timed 4.9 forty-yard dash. Robinson was responsible for 150 all-purpose yards, 1 touchdown, 2 solo stops and one pass breakup. The Patriots is a program that will start producing Div. 1 prospects moving forward. Robinson is certainly a future Div.1 prospect.
Promising eighth-grade quarteback Will Prichard's performance this spring could very well put Kings Academy football program in the driver seat the next few years regarding state championship appearances. Prichard is both eye-candy, standing at 6--foot-2 and weighing 190-pounds and talented. The Florida Fire 7-on-7 All-Star signal caller threw for 239 yards and 3 passing touchdowns.
Utility athlete Sedrick Irvin from Westminster Christian is a FBS recruit in waiting. In his first varsity action after a story youth football career, winning back-to-back Pop Warner Div. 1 Nat' Championships, Irvin made an impact immediately. Listed at 5-9, 155-pounds he was responsible for a forced fumble and didn't allow a single reception in man-to-man coverage.
Irvin will provide versatility for the Warriors in all three phases of the game and sports a 4.0 GPA. He's also the son of well-recognized running back Sedrick Irvin a record breaker at Michigan State. Rounding off the list is DE Francois Nolton (Miami Christian), DE Daniel Smith-Wilson (American Hertiage Plantation), and DL Steven Shannon (Killian) who all made a living in opposing teams backfield. Gulliver Prep offensive linemen Justin Neyra and Brandon Brana as well as strong safety Jeremiah Noel from Miami Christian both impressed me and will make their mark this upcoming season. LaSalle athlete Jude Servius possesses 4.9 electronically timed speed and just make plays all over the field for his team. Everglades Prep running back Theemothey Leandre displayed playmaking ability in his first varsity action. He's small, but tough and has speed and someone to keep an eye moving forward.
