Impactful Freshmen Vadala, Dandridge, Miller continues to pick up steam statistically

By Jerry Williamson As the high school football season approaches the midway mark, you'll notice, the freshmen of theweek list, will dwindle. This week, a total of ten players made the cut, which consisted of playmakers from the counties of Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade. On the offensive side of the ball, St. Brendan wide receiver Richard Dandridge  and Florida Christian running back Levy "LA" Miller -- earned the prestigious honors as Rising Stars co-offensive players of the week. Last but not least, offensive tackle Knijeah Harris from West Centennial High School, is the next big time star in South Florida within the trenches. Harris physically, looks like a college freshman, and his mobility is unbelievable.  American Heritage Plantation (FL) LB David Vadala Vadala has been selected as Rising Stars defensive Player of the Week. Vadala has outright earned the recognition as the face of South Florida at the linebacker position for the class of 2023 early in his high school career. He continues to deliver double digit tackles in individual games. At middle linebacker he posted 12 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble this past week. St. Brendan (FL) WR Richard Dandridge & Ryan Bullard Dandridge turned in a stellar performances versus Marathon High School. The former Goulds Rams star (Miami Pop Warner) caught five receptions for an eye-catching 150 yards and two touchdowns. This performance earned him the co-offensive player of the week. Teammate, Ryan Bullard just knows how to find the end zone. This week, with only five touches, he recorded 96 yards and two touchdowns. University School (FL) ATH Brandon Inniss The famous quote, "Big time players, make big time plays.” Is something University School freshman athlete Brandon Inniss, has proven on many occasions. The past week versus a highly talented Western squad, Inniss flashed yet again, on both sides of the ball. Inniss caught five passes for 62 yards and 1 touchdown. In the secondary on defense, Inniss recorded six tackles and 1 interception as well as nearly taking a punt return the distance, where he raced 75 yards before being stopped. Inniss earned Rising Stars athlete of the week. Florida Christian (FL) RB Levy "LA" Miller After having his stats wrongly listed by the Miami Herald, where he recorded back to back 200 yard plus games. Last week, was his worst performance of the season. Listen to this, Miller ran for 168 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns versus Citi Christian. Miller was named the offensive player of the week by Florida High School Football as well as Rising Stars. Miller is roughly 400 yards and a few coins shy of 1,000 yards rushing on the season. West Centennial (FL) OT Knijeah Harris When it comes to recruiting big and athletic linemen in South Florida, the position is on the rise. Harris is someone who stock is on the rise as well. The 6-foot-3 and 300 pounder -- was responsible for 4 pancakes in a single game. Just offered this kid D-1 FBS offers now. He's going to be a national recruit, there's no question about that. He's also a student first. Harris, plans on dual enrolling his junior and senior year of high school. Gulliver Prep (FL) CB Antonio Smith When it comes to passing the eye-ball test and production on the gridiron, the Blue Raiders has a national recruit in waiting. Smith recorded his second interception of the season versus Immaculata-La Salle High School. Smith stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 155 pounds and has done a phenomenal job this season, as a day one varsity starter. Doral Academy Charter (FL) QB AJ Arellano The product from Kendall Hammocks Optimist, is showing why I named him the top quarterback from Southwest Miami-Dade County, as an eighth-grader. In just two quarters of action this week versus Miami Beach, Arellano went 6-for-8 for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns (no interceptions) as well as16 rushing yards. South Miami (FL) LB Rodolfo Hernandez The best freshman linebacker in Miami-Dade County statistically speaking is none other than South Miami outside linebacker Rodolfo Hernandez. Despite his 5-foot-9 and 160 pound frame, he continues to find the ball carrier. His season was cut short last week, but he still recorded 9 tackles less than four quarters of action. Gulliver Prep (FL) Athletes Sedrick Irvin Jr. & Jalen Brown The teammates from Pop Warner, are still scoring touchdowns together at the next level. Irvin Jr. and Brown both reached the end zone last week versus Immaculata-La Salle High School. Irvin Jr. score on the ground, finishing the day with five touches for 45 yards. In the air, Brown caught two passes for 46 yards. Southwest Miami (FL) DE Lamont Green Jr. The Eagles' edge rush specialist, is on track to record 10 sacks as freshman. If not for South Miami quarterback just getting the ball off four times on Monday, Green Jr. would have added four additional sacks. As his four quarterback hurries resulted in turnovers. The 6-foot-4 and 200 still recorded six solo tackles and of course, a total of four quarterback hurries. Florida Christian (FL) ATH Antonio Robinson After starting varsity as an eighth grader last season for the Patriots, Robinson has taken over the signal caller position and has guided his team to a 3-0 record. On offense he recorded a 162 all purpose yards and one touchdown as well as going 6-for-9 in the air. Robinson was targeted early, but didn't allow a single reception. THE BEST OF THE REST ATH Xavier Bryant - Pahokee OL Martel Williams Jr. - McArthur ATH Christian Lowry - St. Brendan
